Has a wealth of insights and hilarious stories from his years walking the beat
Born and raised on a council estate in Sheffield, Alfie Moore was an apprentice in the steelworks before joining the Police force. He arrived slightly later onto the comedy scene and brings with him a wealth of insights and hilarious moments from his years walking the beat, where a keen sense of humour has been the key to his success and survival!
Alfie is a natural raconteur and found that walking the beat and dealing with everyday incidents generated a host of humorous stories that you 'just couldn't make up'. He has written and performed his own one-man show for a full 22+ night run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and his show “Alfie Moore – I Predicted A Riot” toured nationally during 2012 prior to its performance at the Pleasance Courtyard, at the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2012.
He has also supported Sarah Millican, Russell Kane and Milton Jones on their national comedy tours. In 2011, Alfie was one of the stars of ITV1's Show Me The Funny and wrote and presented 'Alfie Moore's Almanac' for BBC Radio.
Alfie Moore has an observational comedic style, which lends itself to witty, and sometimes gritty, anecdotes based on everyday modern policing. This ability to present everyday issues in a comedic way led to a commission from an NHS Trust to develop and deliver material to raise awareness of issues about men's health.
Alfie has featured on BBC 3′s Bizarre Crime, The Guardian, Independent on Sunday, Radio 4 Today Programme, BBC World Service, Radio 5 Live and Sky Motoring.
Alfie Moore is a versatile and distinctively humorous after dinner speaker with his niche area as a serving detective police sergeant.

I booked Alfie Moore for the BSIA annual lunch and awards ceremony and he was exceptional. In previous years the event has attracted speakers such as the Princess Royal and Peers so it was a refreshing change for us to book a comedian instead. He was fantastically funny and worked in a lot of information about the organisation and industry into his material making his set very relevant to the audience. NMP Live were very professional and a delight to work with. Having never worked with an agency before, they were very good at ensuring we got the most out of Alfie for the event in terms of timings, photo calls and meet and greets. Nothing was too much of an issue for the team at NMP Live and I would definitely look to use their talents again for future events.
Just to say thanks for entertaining us all - we thoroughly enjoyed your company and performance. The content was absolutely spot on, you delivered well and appeared to be enjoying yourself which is always good from an audience perspective. I think the audience's response was further evidence of your fantastic performance.
The mix of humour and real life experience through the eyes of a serving policeman made the entertainment very enjoyable and suited the audience on the day. I have to say that on a personal note I was impressed with the way you kept the content clean whilst at the same time remaining very funny, which is the sign of a good performer.
It was clear that Alfie Moore had done his homework prior to our event and hence the style and content was perfect with delivery that was well judged and targeted at the audience in question. Very positive feedback from all who attended. I would not hesitate to recommend him.
Great after dinner light-hearted, intelligent speaker. Genuinely funny, topical, interactive and pitched just right to a mixed audience - no swearing, never offensive or rude. One of the best - felt we were in safe hands!
Alfie Moore was the guest speaker this year and the feedback from everyone afterwards was how entertaining he was with a good mixture of interest and comedy. His view on the police, the judiciary and the public was so funny. I would be very happy to recommend him for any similar event
He's a very funny man!
Thank you on behalf of myself and fellow Council Members for your excellent after dinner speech. The feedback I have had has been very positive indeed. I think you pitched the content and humour perfectly for our event making it a very successful and entertaining evening for us.
