Amy Matthews is a comedian, writer and podcaster.
Her intelligent, distinctive and warm stand up has earned her a glittering arrival on the comedy scene. Recommended by the Rolling Stone for her ‘relaxed charm and searing wit’, she has been tour support for Tom Allen, Suzi Ruffell, Tom Davis and Ed Byrne.
In 2019, Amy won best newcomer at the Scottish Comedy Awards and has gone on to write for BBC Scotland for shows including Scot Squad, Comedy Underground and Socially Distant with Susan Calman.
Since 2022, she has also regularly written for Have I Got News For You.
In 2023, at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Amy premiered her hour long stand-up, I Feel Like I’m Made of Spiders. The show garnered critical acclaim with subsequent performances at Soho Theatre. In 2024, the show became available to stream on ITVX.
