She also sold out performances of both shows at the Soho Theatre in London. She is currently the host of her own stand up show The Dierdre O’Kane Show on Sky Television, and has been the voice of hugely popular Gogglebox in Ireland since it started in 2016 on TV3.

She was co-presenter on The Six O’Clock show, also on TV3, and has hosted the Irish Film and Television Academy Awards (IFTAs) two years in a row. She has appeared on the BBC’s QI, The Blame Game and Delete, Delete, Delete plus Dave’s As Yet Untitled. Deirdre has performed around the world, at Kilkenny Cat Laughs, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Melbourne Comedy Festival and Adelaide Comedy Festival.
She hosted and co-wrote the ten-part TV sketch and stand-up series The Lounge for RTÉ/BBC which included guests such as Rich Hall, Adam Hills, Jeff Green and Dara O Briain. She was a guest on The Panel hosted by Dara O Briain (RTÉ) and starred in Edinburgh and Beyond (Comedy Central).
Deirdre’s talent and versatility as a performer has seen her receive huge acclaim and recognition in recent years. Her leading role of Debra Moone in the award winning Sky One series Moone Boy (IFTAs, British Comedy Awards, Emmy Awards), opposite Peter McDonald and writer Chris O’ Dowd, has earned her an IFTA (Irish Film and Television Academy Awards) nomination and also reaffirmed her place as one of Ireland’s most loved and revered comedy actresses, as well as introducing her to a new generation of fans.
Her performance as Christina Noble, opposite Liam Cunningham and Sarah Greene, in Stephen Bradley’s feature NOBLE, won her a Best Actress IFTA. The film also won Jury and Audience awards at the Boston Film Festival, Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Newport Beach Festival and the Nashville and Dallas Festivals.
