Edith Bowman is an award-winning radio broadcaster, podcast host and television presenter.
Born and raised in Anstruther, Fife, Edith worked at her parent’s hotel before going on to study for a degree at Edinburgh’s Queen Margaret College and then working in local radio as both a producer and presenter for two years.
Her broadcasting career has flourished over more than two decades and she is now one of the most well-respected and sought after personalities in the film, television and audio industry.
Having sent her showreel to MTV, she was immediately signed up to work on MTV’s Daily Edition, as a newshound. This led to her co-presenting MTV’s Hitlist UK with another, then unknown, presenter Cat Deeley. Capital FM subsequently signed the pair up to present Cat And Edith’s Hit Music Sunday.
Her radio work has spanned all the major stations, presenting shows on BBC Radio 1, 2, 6 and 5Live as well as Virgin Radio. As a TV host she has fronted a versatile mix of shows for BBC, Channel 4, Sky Arts, and MTV. In 2023 Edith took the reins as co-presenter on Coast to Coast: Food Festival for BBC2, a show celebrating all things food, farming, and countryside, with fellow hosts Colin Murray and Sean Fletcher.
From hosting music festival coverage, Life Cinematic for BBC4, the 2021 BAFTA Film Awards for BBC1, the BAFTA Scotland Awards and Hogmanay celebrations for BBC Scotland, to presenting dozens of movie premieres, Edith has incorporated her genuine passion for, and in-depth knowledge of, music and film into her work. Her own podcast, the ARIA & New York Festivals Radio Award Winning Soundtracking with Edith Bowman, allows her to combine these two loves and has become the go-to music and film podcast where you can hear Edith talk to directors, producers, actors, writers and composers about their relationship with music both professionally and personally.
Other podcast projects have included Netflix’s The Crown: The Official Podcast, taking listeners behind the scenes and interviewing members of the cast and crew and partners with BMW to present their podcast Play Next, a music discovery podcast that uncovers ground-breaking new music.
Edith’s television presenting roles have included the BAFTA Scotland Awards, the BBC’s television festival coverage of Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds and T In The Park as well as co-anchoring BBC1’s live coverage of the Royal Wedding.
A huge movie fan and respected film presenter and reviewer, Edith is regularly called upon to host Q&A’s and premieres for all the major film companies.
She presented the Scottish BAFTA’s for four years running and the BBC America red carpet coverage for The Britannia Awards in LA.
Edith has written for Clash Magazine, British Airways High Life Magazine, Elle Magazine and Balance Magazine.
A keen photographer, 2021 saw Edith’s own images go on display in an exhibition for The National Trust at Standen House. She is also an accomplished home cook and in 2024 took part in BBC1’s Celebrity Masterchef.

Please would you pass on a massive vote of thanks to Edith Bowman for hosting last night's FDA100 concert – she was utterly brilliant. Edith seems to be particularly busy at the moment – we were fortunate and delighted that she could fit this event into her schedule. She was a pleasure to work with throughout, and I really hope we get to work with her again soon.
