Jason Gardener is most famous for leading the Great Britain team to Olympic Gold in 2004 and breaking the magical 10 second barrier for 100m. For fourteen years Jason represented Great Britain at the highest level in the world of athletics, he was British Team Captain on numerous occasions and was awarded an MBE in 2005.
Jason Gardener has gained an enviable reputation as an inspiring motivational speaker. He is one of a rare breed of athletes who can speak authoritatively and articulately about what it really takes to get to the top. Jason is a person who understands how to plan for success and achieve dream goals even in the face of adversity. He overcame crisis situations and still delivered when it mattered most.
Jason Gardener is well respected, articulate and educated, he has a BSc Honours in Media and Sociology. As well as being an accomplished television presenter, he has several consultancy roles for major organisations and is a highly acclaimed motivational speaker.
I want to say a big thank you for your presentation. The feedback from the team was one of shocked admiration and humble respect for an achievement we can only dream of. Your talk became the centre of conversations that evening and the following day numerous mentions were made of how we could and should link the key messages into BUPA International. Personally I felt inspired and proud. Your talk now creates some folklore that I can refer to at a point in time where the team moved forward under my Leadership.
We were fortunate enough to be able to engage Jason as part of the Lloyds Banking Group partnership with the 2012 Olympic Games. Jason's speeches were phenomenally inspirational – I had feedback of goose bumps and tears! Since his appearance, I know of many colleagues who've dusted off their trainers and pounded pavement for the first time in a long time, as a result. When colleagues returned from the event, they shared the footage of Jason's 4 x 100m Athens race with friends and family – his message has had the effect of a pebble dropped into a pond; its ripples are spreading out through the friends, families and children of the colleagues attending the event. That's very powerful and a testament to the power of the story Jason has to share. Jason is the consummate professional from start to finish and has touched the lives of colleagues in an entirely unanticipated way.
We wanted to give a key message to our dealer network regarding determination and success. Due to our relationship with UK Athletics Jason was a natural choice. He was brilliant and conveying this key message and related it to our specific business need. Our dealers were much moved by Jason's speech and the session proved to be extremely motivational for them. Furthermore, Jason went the extra mile by talking one to one with many of them individually. Jason made the event a huge success.
You absolutely nailed the message through your delivery at our Devon School Sport Coordinators Conference and made the people in the room feel very special about the work that they do.
