Kate Muir is a women’s health campaigner, filmmaker and writer.
In addition to writing the book Everything You Need to Know About the Menopause, Kate pitched and produced two ground-breaking menopause documentaries, including Sex, Myths and The Menopause for Channel 4, and recruited Davina McCall as the presenter. In 2023, Kate produced Davina McCall’s Pill Revolution, also for Channel 4.
Kate’s campaigning work has created profound change in women’s health in the UK, bringing the menopause conversation to a mass audience. Since her documentaries have aired, a million more women have gone on hormone replacement therapy.
Released in 2024, Kate’s book Everything You Need to Know About the Pill, delves deeper into the effect of hormones on mental health for younger women.
On a mission to eliminate taboos, increase inclusion and explain the latest science, Kate delivers talks and workshops on the menopause and women’s health for corporate and academic audiences – and the boardroom. Clients include Lloyds, Kingfisher, Bloomberg, the Ministry of Defence, Cambridge and Newcastle Universities, plus the NHS.
Kate is a founding member of The Menopause Charity, and has worked with MP Carolyn Harris to change the law surrounding menopause.
