Actor and writer Sanjeev Bhaskar gained notoriety as creator and performer of the BBC hit series Goodness Gracious Me and The Kumars at No.42.
The Kumars at No.42 first aired in 2001 running for seven series and totalling 53 episodes. The show had global success winning two Emmys, a BAFTA nomination, a British Comedy Award and the Bronze Rose at Montreaux.
In 2014, the family returned to our screens on Sky with episodes featuring Daniel Radcliffe, Olivia Colman Ray Winstone, Rupert Everett and Terry Gilliam.
Sanjeev’s other TV credits include the BAFTA nominated Indian Doctor, Unforgotten, The Sandman and Inspector Singh.
Sanjeev made his West End debut in 2008 as King Arthur in Eric Idle’s Spamalot at London’s Palace Theatre.
In 2007, as part of the BBC's series of programmes on the 60th anniversary of the independence of India and Pakistan, Sanjeev filmed the BBC documentary series India with Sanjeev Bhaskar. In the series, Sanjeev embarked on a highly personal journey through modern India to his father's ancestral home in Pakinstan.
Accompanying the documentary came Sanjeev’s Sunday Times bestseller.
