Richard West's extensive business experience comes from his background in International motorsport and Formula 1 Motor Racing over a twenty five year period, during which time he raised in excess of $165m USD in sponsorship revenues.
He held senior commercial positions with famous marquees such as McLaren, Arrows and Williams in Formula 1TM, Jaguar in World Sports Car Racing and as the overall Championship Administrator of the British Touring Car Championship.
Working with those teams and with drivers such as Michael Schumacher, The late Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, Niki Lauda, Keke Rosberg, Damon Hill, Jacques Villeneuve, and David Coulthard, Richard has a comprehensive understanding of exactly what is required to galvanise business teams and to ensure clear lines of leadership and communication are maximised in today's highly competitive business world.
His wealth of performance, teamwork and business knowledge comes from his exposure to not only some of the most successful motor racing teams in history, but importantly from the current range of International businesses and organisations with whom he works today.
Richard is a successfully published business author. ‘Performance at the Limit – Business Lessons from Formula 1 Motor Racing' published by Cambridge has been released in four separate editions, in both English and in Japanese.
As a professional international keynote speaker Richard has worked for many of the world's leading companies specialising in the subjects of Teamwork, Leadership and Change. He is also a much sought after event and conference compère and business day facilitator.
In 2007 and 2008, ‘Performance at the Limit' also served as the inspiration for the award winning BBC World eight part TV documentary ‘Formula for Success', which Richard co-presented whilst acting as overall series advisor.
