Following its launch on Sunday 17th November, this year’s I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! is officially underway.
After racing to the jungle via skydive, Jeep and for some, canoe – ten famous faces made their way to base camp ready to compete for those all-important gold stars and begin their stay amongst Australia’s notorious wildlife.
Joining the camp in tomorrow's episode and finally completing the much-anticipated 2024 line-up is Rev Richard Coles.
Speaking ahead of his time in the jungle, Richard shared that by way of preparation, he’d been consuming 5000 calories a day and avoiding ‘triggering’ nature documentaries.
With his fellow campmates already having endured The Mausoleum of Misery and The Sinister Sarcophagus as part of the show’s infamous bush tucker trials, Richard said that he may very well call upon his faith to survive whatever the jungle has in store for him.
Whilst many campmates cite the prospect of the eating trials as one of their biggest apprehensions in joining the show, Richard has said he feels non-plussed, commenting, “I like eating weird things anyway, so I have a rule, whenever I go anywhere, to eat the local delicacy, which is sometimes not great."
As well as a bestselling author, broadcaster, former pop star turned vicar and now campmate, Richard is a popular after-dinner speaker, keynote speaker and awards host.
A humorous and captivating speaker with a unique story, Richard speaks on a broad range of topics including diversity and inclusion, mental health and LGBTQ+ issues.
